Hi everyone and welcome back to Life Teen 2010!
This semester most of the nights will be based around the topic of vocations and we kicked off last Sunday by introducing the topic of vocations by breaking open the very foundations of all vocations- our call to holiness!
Here are the main points that were discussed on that night:
Every single human being have a 'hole' inside of them that needs to filled. There is a degree of emptiness inside of us due to loss of innocen…

The Christmas party had been sillier than usual, and I felt some satisfaction that it would be my last. In September Joe and I'd come to the parting of the ways, at least temporarily, as he strode off with all the confidence in the world to the school on the hill.
You could see Ancrum Road Primary School if you stood on the wall outside St Mary's Catholic Church where the High Street became the Lochee Road. I had no idea what Alcatraz was then, but if I had, I would certainly have named that ins…

Lifeteen series - Episode 5: The taking over of Christmas! PART TWO
“Guys!” Megan called from inside the parish house, “Hurry up!” she sighed.
“Don’t worry, I’ll go get ‘em,” Joe decided, getting up. He made his way outside, looking for Adam and Jens. Finally, he found them all the way out the front of the church. “Guys, we need to hurry up and start the meeting.” Joe said

Q: As far as drinking...what is the big deal in eyes of God?
God wants us to be pure. God wants us to live for Him. God wants us to be examples. God wants us to lead others to holiness, not to sin. St. Paul called this “the law of love”. It basically meant that we should avoid anything that could cause one of our fellow brothers or sisters in Christ to stumble or fall on their walk toward Him.
“Therefore, if food causes my brother to sin, I w…

Sorry this is so long, but I had to get it off my chest!
Do you believe in miracles? Do you think such things happen? Or is it all mere coincidence, chance and reading too much into things? A friend said to me that an intelligent person could not believe in miracles because they are just superstition. I beg to differ.
One reason why people do not believe in miracles is because what they think a miracle ‘is’ is incorrect. Many think a miracle is when God intervenes with the normal operat…

Lifeteen series - Episode 4: The taking over of Christmas! PART ONE
“Santa, do you think our plans will work?” asked B1.
“My grilled cheese sandwich?” Santa replied with a question, “Yes, and I think it’s going to taste magnificent!” He marveled at his sandwich as he placed it onto the grill.
“No, I meant the whole taking over charismas.” B1 answered shortly, “and where did you get that—“he began but shrugged it off.
“Of course our plans will work!” Santa beamed an evil smile at B1 “I am Santa.…

Lifeteen series - Episode 3: Name-Changing
“I have called this meeting,” Jens began “To put forward that my superhero name is a girl’s name.” Jens looked at the other people around the table. The entire core was there. Arnie disguised a laugh as a cough. “I just do not think that ‘Joy’ is a suitable name for a boy.” He stated.
"O…K…,” Chantelle muffled her laugh, “What do you want us to do?” Arnie couldn’t hide his humor any more. A loud laugh deafened the core. They all froze, an…

1. FULL MOON
It all started on a dark stormy night, when the moon was full and the wind rustled in the trees. The sky was as red as blood as the little boy called Joseph Sat in the darkness watching his fluffy sheep trot around happily. Little did he know that someone was watching him from out of the bushes. Someone with crimson eyes, someone with dark, matted fur covering its entire body, someone with tall sharp teeth. It was the wolf. Now this is no ordinary wolf, no, this wolf could kill with…

Lifeteen series - Episode 1: The beginning
“Yay!” chimed Stef, “Lifeteen time!” Stef, Theresa, Naomi and Jay happily skipped through the busy crowd in the foyer, to the front of the church, where they saw Paul waiting. Mass had finished, and they now waited for Lifeteen to begin.
“I shall request that thee teens, shall beknowledge myself to how thee’s day had been spent and whether thy day had'st been good for thy teens” Paul grinned.
“Paul, Paul,” Naomi began, “Thy day has…

For many people who look at the communion bread, it often doesn’t look like normal ‘bread’ at all. It’s white, small and circular (we call them hosts). Christians have argued for centuries about what sort of bread is appropriate for this sacrament, and as committed Catholics, we too need to understand the significance of unleavened bread if we are to grasp more fully this sacrament.
Did you know, that the Roman Catholic Church considers
only unleavened bread to be appropriate for communi…

Why does God give us such powerful hormones now, if we aren't supposed to get married for ten more years?
I think there are a few reasons for this. Perhaps the most obvious is that our modern civilization gets married later in life than most cultures throughout the history of the world. In many cultures before our day, girls got married shortly after puberty, and guys would be husbands by the age of 18. Obviously times were diff…

At one point or another nearly everyone's wondered what this doctrine means. We all know Jesus is really present in the eucharist, but how do we know that? How does that happen? What do we mean by 'real'? Is this just some spiritual presence? Does God become a piece of bread? Why does it still look like bread and wine? And so on and so on.
I've spent quite a while trying to understand transubstantion, but now I think I finally get it. In this article, I will talk more from a philosophical point…

Do you ever get upset with yourself for doubting God?
I once had a friend tell me that, "If Jesus would just work one miracle for all the world to see, like turning the entire sky red for an hour and speaking through clouds or something...." that Than he would believe. He went on to tell me that God's biggest "problem" was that He "left people with to much doubt", and that if He really wanted us to follow Him, "He should have given us more to go on.
Interesting....
There were so many things I w…

There is a Christian failure to distinguish between socializing and fellowship. Although socializing is often both a part of and the context of fellowship, it is possible to socialize without having fellowship. Socializing involves the sharing of human and earthly life. Christian fellowship, New Testament koinonia, involves the sharing of spiritual life. Don’t misunderstand- socializing is a valuable asset to the church and nec…

" I remind you to stir into the gift of God that you have through the impostition of my hands"- 2 Timothy 1:6
Ever feel like you're just not strong enought to "walk the walk" of Christ?
Ever feel like you just don't have the energy to make it through the day?
Are you thirsty?
If you're like me there are some days that you feel really strong in your faith-days that no matter what happens, you are able to keep perspective and smile on your face because Jesus in Lord. Than there are the other 3…
